Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C Don Adinuba, has given thumps up to members of the Editorial Board of the Ministry for their sense of commitment to duty during the out-going year.

Mr. Adinuba said this during the end of the year party organized by the Ministry Editorial team at the Situation Room of the Ministry at Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.

He commended them for considering it worthy to socialize, mark the end of the year while thanking the board for setting the pace in the ministry, urging them to make it a regular exercise.

Mr. Adinuba encouraged other departments in the ministry to borrow a leaf from the information department noting that he is impressed by the level of co-operation displayed there.

The Commissioner said that plans are underway to hold a get-together for the entire staff of the Ministry in January, 2019 which would usher in the New Year and chart the way forward for the Ministry.

He, however, described merry-making as integral part of life aimed at motivating people to workhard, while urging the staff of the Ministry to celebrate the festive season with moderation.

Earlier in an opening remark, the Acting Director of Information Department, Mr. Anthony Nweke, said the event was staged to mark the end of a successful working year by staff of the editorial team.

He thanked God for the gift of life, good health and wisdom that enabled the Editorial Board to discharge their duties efficiently.

Mr. Nweke commended the state government under Governor Willie Obiano for being worker-friendly as manifested in prompt payment of salaries and allowances.

In a goodwill message, Dr. Dennis Ekemezie of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), described information management as critical to the success of any organization.

He commended the Commissioner for his ingenuity in the management of the state Information machinery and urged staff of the ministry to support him to do more exploits .
