Governor Willie Obiano has expressed satisfaction with the current peace deal between Umeri and Aguleri Communities.

Governor Obiano who stated this shortly after receiving the Ogbunechndo title, given to him by the traditional ruler of Umueri Community in Anambra East Council Area, Igwe Bennett Emeka, during his second Ovala Festival, emphasized that Aguleri and Umueri are one and should not fight for anything.

The event took place at the traditional ruler’s Palace, in Umueri.

Governor Obiano while pointing out the benefits of peace in any Community, appreciated the title and restated his commitment towards entrenching good governance in various Communities across the State, especially Umueri.

The Governor further urged the youths of the State to take advantage of the program for youths in the just approved 2019 budget, by forming cooperative societies in order to achieve more this coming year.

Igwe Emeka in his remarks expressed gratitude to the Governor for his commitment to good governance in the community including provision of adequate security, roads and other infrastructures, and stressed that the present leadership of Umueri has succeeded in getting a clear cut roadmap for developing the Community.

Igwe Emeka said that the security situation in Umueri has greatly improved, expressing his commitment to peace with all their neighbors, and called on his Community members and beyond to join hands in the drive to make Anambra stand tall among comity of States.

Conferment of the title, as well as dance to the traditional Uvie music by the Governor, added glamour to the event.

The Governor was accompanied by the cabinet members of Aguleri kingdom with their Igba Eze cultural dance .
