Governor Willie Obiano yesterday joined the Member representing Anambra Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly Senator Victor Umeh and Family for a Special thanksgiving at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Parish Aguluzigbo, in Anaocha Local Government Area.

The Mass was officiated by the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor.

Speaking during the event, Governor Obiano stressed the need for Christians, to always cultivate the habit of giving thanks to God for all His mercies and blessings.

In a homily, Bishop Ezeokafor who harped on the functions of everyone in the family, called on them to place Jesus Christ’s earthly family as a role model, strive to protect the family’s good name, values and tradition.

While appreciating God for people like Senator Umeh, Bishop Ezeokafor said that he wants only the best candidate to emerge in the forthcoming General elections, urging him to work harder to improve on his representation at the National Assembly.

He applauded Governor Obiano for his good work in all sectors of the State economy, and advised him to pay unscheduled visits to various ongoing projects across the State to ensure that resources he invests are properly utilized.

Responding Senator Umeh said that the event was to thank God for His favour and successful journey to the Senate despite all odds, and appreciated everyone who contributed to the success story, especially Governor Willie Obiano.

The Principal Secretary to the Governor, Sir Willie Nwokoye, Head of Service, Mr Harry Uduh, Traditional Rulers, top government functionaries, among others attended the event.
