The Umunri dynasty comprising of many communities on Saturday witnessed the enrollment of Chief and Chief Mrs Uche Nworah into the traditional cabinet of Enugwu – Ukwu na Umu Nri as Cabinet Chief and Otu Odu Eze members.
The event formed part of the Sixty First Annual Igu Aro Enugwu -Ukwu and Eighth under the present traditional ruler of the community Igwe Ralph Ekpeh, at Obu Umunri, Enuwgu-Ukwu, Njikoka Council Area.
Correspondent Ngozi Obileri also witnessed the epoch making event and reports that it was diversity of culture with the presence of people from Bayelsa who brought their cultural exhibition to spice the rich culture of Ndi Enugwu -Ukwu.
Masquerades from various communities of the state displayed their dance steps to the entertainment of the people.
Speaking at event, the Commissioner for information and public Enlightenment Mr. C Don Adinuba , said the honour was well deserved, reminiscing his experience while growing up in Enugwu –Ukwu.
The Senator representing Anambra Central at the National Assembly Chief Victor Umeh, said Chief Nworah is a perfect gentleman who is always ready to help, just like himself whose sole interest is to better the lots of the people he is representing.
The Monarch of the community Igwe Ekpeh after staying in a sacred room for days, communed with God and his ancestors, and brought a message of peace and of good tidings in 2019.
Comrade Bonny Ozonkwoaku is the President General Enugwu-Ukwu Community Development Union, he underscored the importance of igu aro to Ndigbo.
After the activities at the Obumunri, Chief Uche Nworah took his guests to his house at Umuakwu village Enugwu-ukwu, where they were treated to sumptuous dishes and assorted types of drinks and beverages.
Some of them who came to felicitate with him including the former Special Adviser to the President on Inter Party Affairs Chief Ben Obi, Commissioner for Environment Architect Mike Okonkwo, member ABS Board of Directors Mr. Marcel Manafa, the Chief Media Officer to the
Governor Mr. Emeka Ozumba, a stakeholder in Awgbu community Chief Walter Chigboo, among numerous others appreciated Ndi Enugwu -Ukwu for recognizing Chief Nworah’s contributions and advised him to see his new position as a call for more service.
In their separate speeches, Chief Nworah and his wife thanked the traditional stool of the community for accepting them in their mist, and said it would spur them to do more for Ndi Anambra.
Chief Nworah and his wife cut the chieftaincy cake as they displaced some dance steps to the admiration of their guests.
