In keeping with his Continue, Complete, Commission and Commence campaign mantra on assumption of office, Governor Willie Obiano has performed the Grand Commissioning of the Golden Tulip Hotels and Resorts, Agulu Lake, Agulu, a project he inherited from his predecessor.
The Hotel venue was laden with guests cut across political parties, Service Chiefs, Traditional Rulers, among others.
The five star project which sits on a five point five hectares of land, has eighty- one rooms, five hundred sitting capacity banquet halls, including eighty- eight hectares of land space for expansion
which can still accommodate a two hundred room expansion project, event center, among others.
Commissioning the project, Governor Obiano announced that a Nine Hole Golf course is coming onboard as a complement to the project.
The Governor who said that under his watch, two hundred and eighteen hotels have sprang up due to the security architecture in place, pointed out that the project will promote the State as a hub for tourism, and appreciated Agulu people for their support during the course of the project.
The Senator representing Anambra Central at the National Assembly , Senator Victor Umeh, described the moment as glorious in the life of APGA administration in the State, and applauded the Governor’s quality and comprehensive governance.
Earlier, the Chairman Board of Trustees of the Hotel, Professor Chukwuma Soludo said that the hotel is one of the signature projects of the Governor, whose foundation was laid few months before the expiration of the tenure of the former Governor.
The Chairman of the Golden Tulip West Africa, Mr Amaechi Ndili while describing the project as the phase one, said that it is an expansion of the hospitality industry in the state.
Cutting of ribbon featured at the event, while guests were treated to Traditional music and dance as the Governor was later conducted round the facility.
