The Member representing Anambra Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Chief Victor Umeh has described the Igu-aro Enugwu-Ukwu and the celebration of Ovala by the Aguleri community as part of efforts aimed at preserving the rich Igbo cultural heritage.
He stated this while addressing newsmen at the country home of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chief Uche Nworah who was recently conferred with the traditional title of Ezeudo Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri by Igwe Ralph Ekpe.
Chief Umeh, extolled the doggedness of both Igwe Ralph Ekpe of Enugwu-Ukwu and Igwe Christopher Idigo of Aguleri who he observed have since their ascending the throne combined their Christian faith with the culture of Ndigbo as it is the only way to sustain the legacies of their
forefathers.
He revealed that both ceremonies will go a long way in sustaining the rich cultural heritage of Ndigbo calling on the people to join hands in safe guarding their culture.
