The Deputy Governor Dr Nkem Okeke has called on ndi Anambra to continue to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere in the state as they embark on various social activities now that Christmas and New Year celebrations are over.

Dr Okeke made the call at Umuawulu, during the fifth ofala festival and fifth year on the throne of Igwe Joel Egwuonwu.

Dr Okeke adjudged this yuletide as the best as he noted that no accident or any criminal activity that could claim life were recorded, which he said was as a result of the proper security and
enabling environment instituted by the Obiano led administration.

While wishing Ndi Anambra a prosperous New year, Dr Okeke charged all to be law abiding and shun acts that can drag the name of the state to the mud.

He congratulated Igwe Egwuonwu on the success of his fifth ofala festival and thanked all traditional rulers in the state for sustaining the culture and tradition of the state through such
activities.

On his part, the Senator representing Anambra Central at the National Assembly Senator Victor Umeh who was given a chieftaincy title of “Dike Omelora Umuawulu”, appreciated Ndi Umuawulu for the honour done him, and for their support that has enabled him fight for the rights of members of his Senatorial District, the State and Ndigbo at large.

Senator Umeh advised electorate to be careful of politicians who resort to vote buying as a means of thwarting the voice and choice of the people during elections, reminding them that selling ones vote amounts to selling ones rights.

Earlier, Igwe Egwuonwu commended Governor Obiano for what he called quality and even distribution of resources in the state, especially for extending the street light project to his community, even as he pleaded with him to remember the dilapidated Umuawulu – Amaetiti road
that linked the state to Imo and Enugu states.

The event featured masquerade display and cultural dances.
