The state government has commended contractors handling various road projects across the state for adhering to its directives not to go on Christmas holidays to ensure timely completion of the projects.
The Commissioner for Works Engineer Marcel Ifejiofor gave the commendation while speaking to ABS correspondent on the situation of things in terms of road construction in the state.
Engineer Ifejiofor explained that all the sites are active now, affirming that work did not stop on any of the sites before, during and after christmas and new year celebrations.
The Commissioner added that while work was going on on old sites, new ones were being awarded , while completed ones were being commissioned.
He explained that his Ministry will from next week commence inspection tour of the sites to ensure that they are being done according to specifications.
