Some stakeholders in the State have called on eligible voters to visit INEC offices in their various areas to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, which they noted is the only tool to enthrone God fearing and credible leadership.

The Stakeholders who spoke in Awka decried the lukewarm attitude of some electorate in taking active part in elections, calling on them to have an attitudinal change.

One of the stakeholders and the traditional ruler of Nanka in Orumba North Local Government Area, Igwe Godwin Ezeilo was of the opinion that the electorate should see next month’s presidential and National Assembly elections as a National project.

Igwe Ezeilo charged Nigerians to always contribute to the growth of the nation instead of engaging in blame games.

He called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to provide a level playing ground for all the political parties and their candidates reminding them that the International community is looking on to them as they prepare to conduct next month’s general elections.

Contributing the President-General of Ogboji Town Union in Orumba South Local Government Area, Mr Michael Obidike who harped on the need for politicians to desist from seeing election as a do or die affair reminded candidates seeking various elective offices of the need to engage in issue based campaign.

Mr Obidike while describing Nigeria as a country that is richly blessed called for an equitable distribution of resources among the six geo-political zones of the country for enhanced development.

He used the opportunity to draw the attention of the Federal Government to the deplorable condition of its roads across the country, especially those in the South-East geo-political zone which he noted is causing a serious set-back to business transactions and transportation in the area.
