The week- long activities marking the tenth year anniversary of the inauguration of Amichi Diocese and the consecration of its pioneer Bishop, Right Reverend Ephraim Ikeakor has ended with a thanksgiving service at the Cathedral church of Saint Andrews Amichi, Nnewi South Local government area.

The anniversary service was well attended by creme de la creme in the society including the state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, top government officials, politicians, captains of industry college of
Bishops both from within and outside the state, other members of the the clergy and students
amongst others.

In his speech, Governor Willie Obiano represented by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority ACTDA, Venerable Amaechi Okwuosa, commended the Diocese for their numerous achievements while assuring them of governments support, urged them to vote wisely and avoid selling their votes to ensure a better Nigeria.

Earlier in a sermon, the Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of all Nigeria, Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh who congratulated Bishop Ikeakor and the people of the Diocese for their great achievements urged them to maintain spirit of cooperation, brotherhood and humility to
promote evangelism.

In an interview, the Bishop of the Diocese, Right Reverend Ikeakor, thanked God for his grace, faithfulness and guidance over the years , as well as the Primate, the people of Amichi and all who have in one way or the other supported him and the Diocese which according to him lead to the great achievements in the Diocece , assuring them of more developmental projects.

Bishop Ikeakor during the service, presented “Distinguished Temple Builders” Award to seven people of the Diocese and beyond for their outstanding contributions towards the propagation of the gospel.

Some of the awardees, including Sir Godwin Ezeemo and Chief Chidi Anyaegbu expressed satisfaction with the performance of Bishop Ikeakor who they described as a blessing to the people of Amichi Diocese and beyond and prayed God for more grace and strength for him to achieve more.

Presentation of the Diocesan publication, music renditions by the choir, cutting of the anniversary cake and thanksgiving by Bishop Ikeakor and family accompanied by other Bishops, friends and well wishers featured in the anniversary service.
