The managing Director of Anambra State Waste Management Authority, ASWAMA, Mr Amechi Akuora, has restated the need for residents to bag their refuse and dispose in the ASWAMA waste bins for onward evacuation.

Mr Akuora stressed this while receiving in audience Eke Awka Traders Association.

ASWAMA Chief Executive officer noted that the agency has made extensive progress in instilling a new consciousness on cleanliness across the state.

He reiterated the need for people to avoid dumping of refuse inside drainages or along the roads, as they block the water channels forcing water to surge on the road with its eroding forces.

Earlier, the traders through their Vice Chairman, Mr Echezona Obiano, said they were happy with the sanitation measures of the ASWAMA hence their decision to present him with an Award for Excellence.

They applauded the ASWAMA boss for clean environments across the state, especially around market places.
