In line with the clarion call by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Dunukofia Local government Area, electorate in Ukwulu community turned out in their numbers to pick their Permanent Voter Cards.

The President General of the town , Chief Walter Okafor who disclosed this while monitoring the exercise , expressed satisfaction with the result of the awareness created by the town with the use of town criers to sensitize the electorate on the need to pick up their PVCs to participate in the forthcoming elections.

Chief Okafor noted that the distribution exercise which commenced on Wednesday at the Ukwulu wards one and two, took off at a slow pace with the electorate trickling in of people to collect their PVCs.

He advised those yet to collect their PVCs to do so before its expiration on Wednesday next week or stand to be disenfranchised during the elections.

In a related development, the traditional ruler of Umuawulu Igwe Joel Egwuonwu and the President General of the community Chief Iyke Nkala said they have sensitizatized the people through the use of the town crier to enlighten the electorate on their civic responsibilities.

A member of Igwe Egwuonwu’s Cabinet, Barrister Chuka Oranye charged all eligible voters yet to collect their permanent voters cards to do so to participate in the forthcoming election.
