The Governor of Rotary International District 9142, Chief Dan Ajawara says the organization strives towards providing opportunities for individuals and society at large.

Speaking in Awka while inducting Mr. Abuchi Nwozor of the Anambra Broadcasting Service into Rotary Club of Awka, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Chief Ajawara who maintained that the primary aim of Rotary International is giving back to the society, called on people to cultivate the habit of helping the needy.

The District Governor while describing the Rotary International as an institution where members can learn from each other, called on people to join Rotary to help in improving living standards of people.

Chief Ajawara charged members of the Rotary Club of Awka, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, to redouble efforts in attracting more members to the organization.

He stressed the need for Rotary members to embark on those programmes that will always touch lives.

In a remark, the President of the Rotary Club of Awka Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Mrs. Ify Obi who said that it is a rare privilege for the District Governor to perform the induction of a new member, urged Mr. Nwozor to leverage on the opportunity and be part of those God will use to take Rotary Club of Awka UNIZIK to the next level.

Mrs. Obi while thanking the District Governor for his support to the club called on members to be more committed.

Responding, Mr. Nwozor expressed happiness for being a Rotarian and thanked the District Governor, Chief Ajawara and the President of the Rotary Club of Awka, UNIZIK, Mrs. Obi, for their support and he later donated to the Rotary Foundation.
