The State House of Assembly resumed sitting yesterday after Christmas and New Year break.

Welcoming the lawmakers back to the House after Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Speaker, Mrs. Rita Maduagwu, stated that the sixth Assembly under her watch, will enact more quality laws that will guarantee accelerated development of Anambra State in the next seven months.

Barrister Maduagwu, expressed Joy that the present lawmakers have done so well in the empowerment of their constituents including scholarship schemes and business promotions and will continue in that light.

She commended the House for the unprecedented achievements they have recorded in the aspects of lawmaking, effective representation as well as oversight functions.

She assured that the House would continue to work in synergy with other arms of government especially the Executive, as the cordial relationship that exists between the House and the Executive arm of government, has facilitated the massive achievements of the present government in all sectors of the state economy.
Later, the House adjourned sitting till Tuesday next week.
