After more than four years of military rule, Thailand will finally hold elections on March twenty-fourth this year.
The election will be the first since military overthrew a democratically elected government in 2014 after months of violent street protests.
The Chairman of the Nation’s Electoral Commission Mr Ithiporn Boonprakong disclosed this after having postponed the date on several occasions.
In December last year, the commission said the elections will take place on February twenty-fourth, but the military government expressed concerns that election-related events will clash with early preparations for the coronation of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, scheduled between May fourth and sixth
