Governor Willie Obiano has reiterated his administration’s commitment at building legacy projects that will transcend the present generation and secure the future of generations to come.

Governor Obiano re-stated this while speaking at the maiden Njikoka Heroes Award where he was recognized for excellence in public service and for his administrative contributions to the development of the council Area.

The award ceremony, held at the Council’s Secretariat, saw more than sixty-four indigenous sons, daughters and friends of the council area go home with several recognitions for their contributions to community development and for attaining great heights in their chosen careers.

Represented by the member representing Njikoka Constituency One in the State House of Assembly, Honourable Timothy Ifedioramma, Governor Obiano stated that the state government will not relent at ensuring that it sustains the tempo of delivering democracy dividends to all the communities in the state.

He described the Award ceremony as one that will encourage young persons towards pursuing excellence in their lives endeavours.

On his part, the Transition Committee Chairman, Njikoka Council Area, Honourable George Ozoh who explained that the awardees cuts across different fields of human endeavour underscored that celebrating people who have made enormous contributions to the society will drive younger generations to understand that there is dignity in labour.

Some of the awardees including the Senator representing Anambra Central in the National Assembly and Senatorial Candidate of APGA in the forth coming General Elections, Senator Victor Umeh, A former Presidential aide, Senator Ben Ndi Obi, Senator Uche Ekwunife, the member representing Njikoka Constituency Two at the State House of Assembly, Dr Pete Ibida and the Managing Director, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Nze Uche Nworah praised the recognition saying it will spur them to do more.

Others who received awards at the event included the Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke, Vice Chancellor, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Professor Benjamin Ozumba, and numerous others from the six communities of the council area of Abagana, Abba, Enugwu-Agidi, Enugwu-Ukwu, Nimo, and Nawfia.
