The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Media Mr. Harrison Madubueze and Chioma Winifred have received the sacrament of Holy Matrimony at the Retreat Center, Nodu Okpuno.
Delivering a homily during Mass to commemorate the nuptial vows, Reverend Father Nicholas Okekeocha described marriage as a divine institution with the primary purposes of companionship, love, and procreation.
Reverend Father Okekeocha stated that a man must love and sacrifice for his wife unconditionally as Christ loved and sacrificed for the church while the woman should be submissive and respect her husband at all times.
Speaking later, Governor Willie Obiano, represented by his Chief Press Sectary, Mr. James Eze noted that the institution of marriage makes one better human being.
Later in a reception, the Senator representing Anambra Central, Senator Victor Umeh advised the couple to be patient with one another, noting that marriage is a patient game.
He used the opportunity to call on the electorate to avoid selling their votes during the general elections, warning that whoever sells his vote has no right to complain and would have to wait for another four years.
Also Speaking, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS, Nze Uche Nworah who advised the couple to embrace tolerance as a watch word, called on all media practitioners to be ethical in carrying out their duties as the general elections draw near. Responding, the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Madubueze expressed confidence and hope for the future.
Dignitaries that graced the occasion included the State Commissioner for Environment Arch. Michael Okonkwo, his Women and Children Affairs counterpart, Lady Ndidi Mezue among others.
