The Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Right Reverend Alexander Ibezim, has sued for revival and renewal of family altars.

Bishop Ibezim stated this in a sermon at the Chapel of Redemption, UNIZIK Permanent site Awka, during a Eucharistic worship for admission, rededication and thanksgiving for Awka diocesan women’s guild.

The Eucharistic Service which was to rededicate the women for the Work of the Ministry for the presence of God to direct their activities in the families, church and society, attracted women from
the seventeen Arch deaconries in Awka Diocese.

Right Reverend Ibezim who said that every family is in need of family altar so as to reawaken the spirit of prayer to take charge of family challenges which are common in today’s society.

Bishop Ibezim explained that altars in the church are not enough stating that any home that has no prayer altar is incomplete and has faulty foundation, adding that when instituted in the families, it will invoke the power of God every morning.

The Prelate advised the women to put God first in all they do for him to provide for them and care for their families urging them to make bible their daily companion.

The President of Mothers Union, Women’s Guild and Girls Guild, Mrs. Martha Ibezim called on women to be responsive to their duties, maintain their motherly roles of taking charge of their families and raising Godly children so as to have a better society.

In their various speeches on-behalf of the newly admitted mothers, Mrs. Blessing Nwokeabia and Mrs. Ijeoma Ezeoke, thanked God for elevating them to the status of womanhood which they noted is a vocation, asking God for his grace and promised to keep to the vows made to God and
humanity.

The service featured series of prayers and thanksgiving.
