Governor Willie Obiano has directed the Firm handling the re-construction of Amansea -Ugbenu-Ugbene-Awba-Ofemili road to return to site.
The Member representing Anambra Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA for next month’s general elections, Chief Victor Umeh, disclosed this during his campaign to Awka North Local Government Area.
Addressing the people of Awba-Ofemmili, Chief Umeh attributed the development to his personal efforts to give the people a sense of belonging.
He emphasized that for the past one year he represented Anambra Central Senatorial District, at the National Assembly the people have regained all they lost in the past, as he has constructed classrooms and renovated dilapidated ones in the area, offered scholarships to seventy persons from the seven local government areas that make up Anambra Central Senatorial District as well as engaged many youths in skill acquisition programmes among others.
Chief Umeh revealed that he sponsored motions and bills aimed at giving Ndigbo a sense of belonging in Nigeria.
In a remark, the Transition Committee Chairman for Awka North Local Government Area, Mr. Ferdinand Onwuje Who stated that Anambra Central Senatorial District and Ndigbo have felt the impact of quality representation for the past one year Chief Umeh has been in the Senate assured that the people of Awka North, will vote en-masse for APGA in the forthcoming elections.
The member representing Awka North Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Prince Boniface Okonkwo and APGA candidate for Awka North Constituency in the March, Second House of Assembly election Mr. John Nwokoye added that APGA Will not lose any vote in the area, just as
the Traditional Ruler of Awba-Ofemmili, Igwe Ezekwesili Maduagwuna assured that his people will throw their weight behind APGA.
Chief Umeh also visited Ugbene and Ugbenu communities where he presented his score card.
