Nigeria has emerged the overall winner of the just concluded 2019 World Para Power lifting Invitational Championships held at Oriental Hotels in Lagos.
Nigeria grabbed all the twenty gold medals on offer to assert its world dominance in the sport.
The country also won fifteen silver and seven bronze medals, making it a total of forty-two medals in all.
Cote d’ Ivoire and Cameroon also registered their names on the medals table clinching three bronze medals each, while Ghana went home with two bronze medals.
Other countries that participated in the championship were Guinea, Tanzania and Mali.
Reacting to the athletes performance, national coach of the Nigeria Para Power lifting team, Mr Feyisetan Are, expressed happiness over the athletes performance.
