The Oye market square of Umuawulu, Agumgbala Square Mbaukwu and Civic centre Nibo were filled to capacity as APGA faithful, Ward chairmen stakeholders, youths and party officers were on ground to witness the empowerment programme of the Member Representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Victor Umeh to Sixteen indigent women.
Senator Umeh, who made the empowerment with cash of Fifty thousand naira each during his campaign rallies, said it is for them to support their businesses and improve their standard of living.
While handling over the package, Senator Umeh who urged the women to manage the resources in fending for themselves noted that his interest to contest the upcoming National Assembly Election is to ensure that the overall interest of the Igbos is well represented.
He also said that his skills acquisition training to over One Hundred and Fifty youths and scholarship awards has made significant impacts to the lives of the youths who are brilliant but ordinarily could not have the chances to acquire education, and pledged to do more if re-elected.
Also speaking, the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Barrister Harford Oseke, maintained that APGA is a strong party of the Igbos and should not be allowed to go wane, calling on electorate to vote all APGA candidates throughout the election.
In a remark, the President General of Umuawulu Town Union , Chief Iyke Nkala called on his people to support those who have worked tirelessly for the development of the Igbos, noting that Senator Umeh deserves to be re-elected into the Red Chambers.
In a testimony of the numerous achievements of Senator Umeh, the Director for Women Affairs, Senator Victor Umeh, Support Group, Mrs. Ifeoma Afoekelu explained that Ndigbo need a patriotic leader who is full of human kindness in the Senate like Chief Umeh in building a consolidated, progressive and prosperous nation.
While thanking the benefactor for his kind gesture, Mrs. Chinenye Ekwunife, Mrs Chinyere Nwafor, Mrs. Charity Odim, who were part of the beneficiaries, showered encomiums to the senator for his charitable works, and pledged their total support to ensuring victory for the philanthropist.
The event got to its climax as youths of Nibo Community endorsed Senator Umeh.
