A Temporary High Court of Justice for Anaocha judicial Division located at Neni, has been inaugurated by the State Chief judge, Justice Peter Umeadi.
The one storey building comprises two Court Rooms, Process and Cash sections, offices and about twenty-two staff.
Appreciating the state government for its support to the State Judiciary Justice Umeadi noted that Governor Willie Obiano has never interfered with the activities of the State Judiciary.
He expkained that the court is not for the people of Neni alone but for the entire Anaocha and others who wish to seek justice, urging legal practitioners to be honest, transparent in addition to
performing their duties with the fear of God.
The Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association Anaohca Branch, Chief Okongwu pleaded with legal practitioners that are indigenes of Anaocha to come back home and practice as a conducive environment has been created.
Earlier in a welcome address, the President-General of Neni Town Union, Chief Chukwudi Mbonu, noted that he looks forward to positive things the court will bring to Anaocha particularly to Neni town including accelerating industrialization and commercialization and urged the State Chief judge to consider employing more staff to enable the court discharge its duties effectively.
Those who witnessed the ceremony included the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Uju Nwogu, top government functionaries, Members of the National Council for Women Societies, Members of the Nigeria Bar Association, Traditional leaders and security agencies amongst others.
There were also renditions by staff of the High Court, and inspection of the court building by the Chief Judge.
