A University Teacher, Professor Anthony Eze has advised Banks and financial institutions to tighten their control and risk management system in view of the rising cases of electronic fraud in the country.

Professor Eze who is a Consultant with specialization in risk management, advisory and talent management, confirmed a recent assessment of e-fraud and forgery cases in the Banking sector by the Central Bank of Nigeria and Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation, and urged Banks to take pragmatic steps to control the security systems, keep alert of cyber-security issues and deepen their operational risk culture through quality training.

He maintained that there is need for the Banks to adopt appropriate fraud risk technology that must include multi-layered security structures and traditional crosschecks of unusual payments with customers.

Professor Eze who teaches at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, advised Banks and other financial institutions to come up with measures that will check the rising cases of e-fraud and forgery in the sector.
