Governor Willie Obiano says he will continue to support the plans and programmes of the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE.
Governor Obiano stated this at Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka during his inspection of the ongoing Prosthetic leg and arms measurements and fixing exercise in company of his wife, Dr Ebelechukwu Obiano.
The initiative is powered by the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE), a pet project of the wife of the Governor, which has given out over one thousand prosthetic arms and legs since inception.
On arrival, ABS observed that measurements and fixing of arms and legs were ongoing .
Governor Obiano promised to continue to support his wife to improve and carry out the interventions, which he noted has touched many lives, adding that he was informed that over one hundred and twenty five arms and legs have been fixed in this edition.
The Governor called on the beneficiaries to come back in case of complaints and explained that it may take a while for them to get used to it, and commended his wife for the initiative.
In her remarks, the Wife of the Governor, Dr Mrs. Obiano disclosed that eighty two more measurements have been taken in this edition and appreciated the Governor for all the support he has been giving her to do more through her NGO, and expressed optimism that the artificial arms and legs will improve the participants’ self confidence.
Beneficiaries were full of excitement as they sang to the Governor and his wife.
