Valentine’s Day which is also known as Feast of love, is celebrated every February fourteenth across the globe to honour a Christian saint named Valentinus.
He was imprisoned and tortured for performing marriage ceremonies against the command of Emperor Claudius, The Second.
Commenting on the Day, a Priest in the Protestant Chaplaincy-Methodist Cathedral, Onitsha Diocese, Venerable Joseph Enukora, said Valentine celebration should bring celebrants closer to Christ who is the source of true love.
On his part, the Pastor in charge of Christ Holy Church, Agulu, Senior Evangelist, Patrick Chigbata, said that the day should be celebrated with loved ones and should be a period of sober reflection, urging all to use the opportunity to pray to God for divine intervention in affairs of the country.
For Master Paul Mmaduakor who is a student of Federal Polytechnic Oko and the President General of Akwaeze Community, Doctor Ignatius Mmaduka, youths should not to indulge themselves in immoral things including fornication, drinking and smoking in the name of celebration.
