The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to pay all outstanding training allowances and other entitlements of the corps members who participated in last Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.

The NYSC said the electoral commission must avoid delay in the settlement of the allowances, as another phase of the general elections on March ninth is near.

The call was contained in statement yesterday by NYSC’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Mrs Adenike Adeyemi.

The organisation also demanded that INEC and security agencies must “continue to evolve strategies for the protection of all corps members throughout this election period and thereafter.”

The NYSC noted that the Director-General, Major General Suleiman Kazaure saluted the courage, discipline and patriotism of corps members during the elections and urged them to be resilient despite the challenges of welfare and insecurity.
