The state government has tasked the contractor handling the International Conference Centre Agu- Awka on quality and timely delivery.

Governor Willie Obiano gave the charge shortly after inspecting pace and quality of work at the site.

The seven thousand capacity Conference Center with vast packing lot and recreational spaces is one of the ongoing landmark projects of Governor Obiano led administration in the state.

Governor Obiano who was represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke while inspecting work done so far, made some suggestions to the contractor towards delivering the best project world over.

Governor Obiano, who commended the contractor on the quality of work done so far, urged him to stick to specifications, assuring that government will continue to give him necessary financial support.

He expressed the hope that the project when completed will help in increasing the internally generated revenue of the state as it will attract people from all walks of life.

Contributing, the state Commissioner for Housing, Engr. Emeka Ezenwanne who compared the project with mega projects in developed countries, disclosed that the International Conference Centre would be completed in twelve to fourteen months time, and reiterated that the Ministry of Housing is monitoring the work to ensure standard and timely delivery.

For the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Barrister Amaechi Okwuosa, the project is a legacy that will on completion serve as tourist attraction and add value to the beautification of the state.

On his part, the project Lead Consultant, Engr. Ifeanyi Ukoma expressed satisfaction with the state government cooperation, promising that they would reciprocate the gesture by delivering on schedule.
