Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe says he fully backs President Trump’s decision to walk away from making an agreement with North Korea’s President Kim, Jong Un.

Mr. Abe says he wants to meet the North Korean leader, repeating his desire to hold his own summit with Kim to resolve long-standing differences between Tokyo and Pyongyang.

He added that Trump took up the issue of past abductions of Japanese nationals by North Korea during his meeting with President Kim.

Japan puts the official number of kidnap victims at seventeen, but suspects North Korean involvement in many more disappearances.
