Justice Ijem Onwuamaegbu will be sworn-in today as the Acting Chief Judge of the State.
This follows the retirement of the State Chief Judge Justice Peter Umeadi from active service.
A release signed by the Chief Registrar of the State Judiciary Mrs Chinyere Ossy-Okoye says that the event will take place at the conference hall of the Government House Awka beginning at twelve noon.
According to the statement serving and retired judges, Senior Advocates of Nigeria and other legal practitioners are invited to the swearing-in ceremony.
After her swearing-in as the Acting Chief Judge of the State, Justice Ijem Onwuamaegbu’s name will go down in history as the first female Chief Judge of the State since the creation of the new Anambra State in 1991.
