The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has been commended for conducting a peaceful and transparent State Assembly Elections in Orumba North, Orumba South and Aguata.
Speaking to the ABS at Eti Village hall, Nanka, Orumba North Council Area, the Member elect, House of Representatives for Orumba North and South, Chief Okwudili Ezenwankwo praised peaceful process and commended security agencies for maintaining peace and avoiding intimidation of voters.
For the State President, Ohaneze NdiIgbo, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene, stated that the INEC materials arrived in time, and voting commenced in time and said the success of the election should be replicated.
The Traditional Ruler of Awgbu, Orumba North Local Government Area, Igwe Micheal Okechukwu commended the peaceful process of the voting while urging the main gladiators in the election to accept the results of the election.
At Ndiowu, Former Local Government Chairman and Candidate for the State Assembly Elections, Chief Emeka Aforka and And the State Woman Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Lady Chinwe Ibenta at Akpu, Orumba South Local Government Area, also commended the process, though stating that there is need for improvement on the smart card readers for better and optimum process.
Meanwhile, collation of results at polling units visited commenced at exactly 2.00pm.
At Eti Village hall Code 008, polling Units 004 and 005 Nanka; Central School Ifite Nanka , polling Unit 016 and at Ugwu Hall Ward, polling Unit 012, Awgbu, collatiom of results went on smoothly.
ABS observed a positive trend across the places visited at Amaokpala, Ekwuluobia, Ogboji, Ndiowu, Isuofia and many others, a great number of women, and persons living with disabilities came out to cast their votes.
