Honourable Obinna Emeneka, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has emerged winner of the Anambra East Local Government Area
State Constituency Election, held on Saturday, ninth March, 2019.
Hon Emeneka demonstrated his capacity by scoring a total of thirty-one
thousand, two hundred and sixty-seven votes, obtaining a landslide victory across the fifteen Wards and also winning in all the one hundred and ninety-seven polling units in the council area.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Honourable Samuel Udoji
came second with a total of one thousand, seven hundred and ninety-one votes while Honourable Onuama Ikechukwu of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, came third with seven hundred and sixty-two votes.
Hon. Emeneka was declared the winner and returned elected by the
Constituency Returning Officer, Dr Elizabeth Okoye, at the INEC office, Otuocha.
With this development, Emeneka will be going to the seventh Anambra
State House of Assembly as one of the oldest members, having stayed in
the House for eight years.
