The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it is studying wild allegations made against it during the 2019 general elections for the possibility of taking culprits to court.

It’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in Enugu State, Dr Emeka Ononadu who stated this during a post election media briefing at the Independent Layout Enugu INEC office, warned that the Commission will not condone reckless allegations that cast aspersion on the electoral
process.

He thanked all stakeholders who participated in the election in the State for displaying, a rare attitude in this era of extreme political rascality displayed in different states during the election.

Meanwhile, the INEC, Resident Electoral Commissioner in Oyo State Mr Mutiu Agboke, says the era of manipulating results of elections in favour of a political party is over in the Nigerian democracy.

Mr Agboke, who stated this yesterday in an interview with newsmen in Ibadan, said that votes of the electorate would always count in determining who wins an election.

He described the last general elections in Oyo State as successful exercise. According to him, the outcome of last Saturday’s polls has proved that the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, means its words and would continue to improve on its existing achievements.

He said the use of Permanent Voter Cards, remained the only power of the electorate in choosing their leaders as witnessed in the recent general elections.
