Medical doctors have warned women against using tobacco in their private parts as it could lead to cancer.

The warning following a popular habit among Tanzanian women who put tobacco in their private parts to reduce sexual urge.

An investigation reveals that a section of women in Tobora in Tanzania have confessed to putting tobacco in their intimate body parts in a bid to keep sexual stimulus at bay.

A widow, Zaituni Shaban, said ever since her husband died, she has never felt the urge to get intimate with another man disclosing that she puts tobacco into private parts twice a week.

Another woman, Asha not her real name, said she has turned to tobacco to completely kill her sexual urge because since she was impregnated and abandoned by her partner when expectant, she does not want to hear anything to do with men, at least sexually.

She said Tobacco is just enough for her and when she uses it, all her sexual urge fades.

The women revealed that they usually take raw tobacco leaves, grind them, mix them with pure petroleum oil and soda ash to make an effective concoction.

Most of the women, said their private parts itched temporarily after applying the mixture thereafter they develop an itchy feeling, which immediately kills the sexual urge.

According to a medical doctor who spoke in confidence, no concrete study has been conducted to establish the effects of tobacco in a woman’s private parts.

He noted, however, that most of their cervical patients from Tabora, often admit to having used tobacco in their private parts at one point in their lives.

He said the practice is unsafe and can lead to cervical cancer among other health complications.
