Traders in the state have been applauding the developmental strides of Governor Willie Obiano as he marked five years in office.

Correspondent Emengini Osadebe who felt the pulse of the traders in Onitsha and its environs reports that the traders described Governor Obiano’s five years in office as purposeful.

Speaking to the ABS on the issue, the President General Old Motor Spare Parts Market Ugwuagba Obosi Ogbuevi Samuel Ezeobodo commended Governor Obiano, for prompt payment of workers salaries in the state, noting that the market received the ten million naira project grant which they used to build their security house while the Obiano led administration installed solar system street lights for them.

On their parts, the Public Relations Officer of the Market Pastor Chinedu Ugwuebo and a Spare Part Dealer Mr. Vincent Obiekwe, who disclosed that the market has about five polling unit with over ten thousand eligible voters that voted massively for APGA in all elections said although the market is feeling government presence in the areas of infrastructural development, there is need for improvement.

At the Ogboefere Market,one of the Patrons of the market Chief Langelus Ibejiaku applauded the APGA led government for giving Anambra state a face lift, adding that the twenty million naira choose your project initiative grants given to the one hundred and eighty-one communities has helped a lot, adding that Ogboefere market received its own share of ten million naira project grant which they used to install street lights.

A Woman Leader at the market , Mrs. Hope Onyemobi disclosed that Governor Obiano’s wonderful performance in the first tenure, earned him a second tenure and stressed the need for the Governor to pay a thank you tour to the market as it will give the governor, first hand information on their activities as regards the project executed in the market.

ABS also visited Akunnia Njote Woliwo where a rice dealer Mr. Ifeanyi Omeje, commended Governor Obiano for fulfilling his campaign promises of lighting up roads and streets in the state and commended him for his commitment and determination towards alleviating the plights of the masses.
