The Federal College of Education Technical Umunze recently held her joint Matriculation ceremony for students of NCE, Degree and Professional Diploma in Education PDE.
The Ceremony which took place at the College Convocation Arena, attracted cream stakeholders in the Academia, professional bodies, parents and guardians.
Delivering an address, the Provost of the College ,Dr. Tessy Okoli, said the College will continue to provide the required facilities and resources for academic excellence to thrive.
While congratulating the matriculating students, the Provost reminded them of the School’s zero tolerance of cultism, sorting and any form of harassment of students, stressing that the College will not lower its standards as regards sanity and peaceful environment for learning.
She thanked Governor Willie Obiano for providing conducive atmosphere for Education to thrive in the State.
In a remark, the Executive Secretary National Commission for Colleges of Education, NCCE, Professor Aliyu Mohammed, represented by Director Physical Planning, Dr Jonathan Atumeie, assured the students that their admission into the College is a step towards being self reliant
on graduation.
Also in a speech, the Vice Chancellor Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Professor Joseph Ahaneku, represented by Professor Nkechi Esomonu, reminded the matriculating students that Tertiary Institutions are not cities of pleasure, as erroneously believed by some students, urging them to work hard and remain focused on their studies.
The matriculating students later took their matriculation vow after being formally admitted into the College.
