Street lights in Eziogidi Uruagu, Nnewi at Milikwe Road, as well as the street light running through Professor Soludo’s road in Isuofia.The Governor was accompanied by some members of the State Executive Counci, State Assembly members among others and was received by members of the host Communities.Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that members of the Communities visited were full of happiness and rolled out their drums to receive the State Governor.
While Nnewi got additional thirty kilometer of light as lights in four different locations were switched on, Isuofia Community got four kilometer.
While expressing commitment towards lighting up all Communities in th State, the Governor explained that the streetlight project would facilitate and improve the economy of the areas, assuring that the state government will not relent on its vision of providing basic amenities for Ndi Anambra. Governor Obiano further explained that the State government is doing the final round of the light up project in Nnewi, reminding them of how his administration spent over one point three billion naira to upgrade their electricity supply and expressed satisfaction that they now enjoy about sixteen hours of power supply, being a great commercial city in the country.
While explaining that major streets of Nnewi are well lit up, the Commissioner for Power and Domestic Water Development, Mr Obi Nwankwo, explained that it is the aspiration of the Governor to ensure that all major streets in the State are lit up and stressed that the Governor
is doing his best to touch all aspects of development in the State.
Commissioner Nwankwo noted that the street light project is at the third phase of the hundred kilometers.
The former Governor of the Central Bank, Professor Charles Soludo in his remarks commended the light up Anambra Project adding that it has improved the economy and widen scope of social economic activities .
