The State Government has said that the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp at Umuawulu, Awka South Local Government Area, will be completed and ready for use before the next orientation programme in June this year.
Governor Willie Obiano made this announcement through the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu, during the opening ceremony of the 2019 Batch “A” Orientation Course at Umunya.
The Governor assured the Corps members of adequate and enabling environment to enable them maximize their full potential.
He however applauded the management of NYSC in Anambra state for their steadfast, dedication and commitment to ensuring that the scheme continues to live up to the lofty ideals and the vision of the founding fathers.
In an address, the Chairman, Anambra state NYSC Governing Board and Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, Mr. Bonaventure Enemali, enjoined them to fully participate in all orientation programs to maximally benefit from the exercise.
On his part, the State coordinuator of NYSC, Mr. Kehinde Aremu who viewed NYSC as a physical and mental training ground for future leaders and a unique opportunity for young Nigerians to participate in nation building, enjoined the Corps members to fit into the developmental agenda of Governor Willie Obiano as school teachers, Agric extension workers, rural health care givers as well as foot soldiers in the emerging robust economy being birthed by this administration.
The orientation course climaxed with the administration of oath of allegiance on the two thousand and forty-eight corps members by the state Acting Chief Judge, Justice Ijem Onwuamaegbu.
