Few hours after the internment of Igwe Christopher Idigo, of Aguleri Community, Anambra East Local Government Area, a new traditional ruler emerged.
He is Igwe Dr Michael Idigo, a medical practitioner.
According to customs and tradition of Aguleri community, the Royal throne abhors vacuum, hence the presentation of a certificate of recognition to Eze Dr Micheal Idigo to succeed Eze Christopher Idigo.
The new traditional ruler, who appeared in full royal regalia immediately after the interment of his predecessor, danced round the Amaigwe with Igba Eze dance accompanied by his subjects and other cabinet members chanting Eze Udo Aguleri.
Addressing the press from his royal stool, Eze Dr Michael Idigo said having worked with the late Eze Idigo as Secretary for twenty-four year he inherited some of his virtues of ensuring that peace, progress and prosperity prevail.
Eze Dr Idigo said his predecessor lived a life of peace and harmonious co-existence with their neighbouring communities and beckoned on his subjects and Cabinet Chiefs to join hands with him to make Aguleri great.
The new igwe of Aguleri just emerge. The real igwe of Aguleri is igwe Chuka Idigo.
