The Deputy Director of the Catholic Women’s Organization, CWO, in Awka Diocese Mrs Debora Chinenye, has cautioned mothers against delegating heir family role of child nuturing and upbringing to their house-helps.

In an interaction with the ABS on this year’s Mothers Sunday, Mrs Chinenye maintained that Mothers as the mirror of their various families should aspire to be role models.

The Deputy Director of the Catholic Women’s Organization in Awka Diocese who extolled the Director of the Organization Lady Theresa Azodo for her leadership qualities charged Mothers to always monitor the kind of company their children keep in order not to bring shame to their various families.

Speaking on the theme of this year’s Mothers Sunday which is “Catholic Women called to Holiness to sanctify development for women in the world”, Mrs Chinenye reminded fathers of the need to always support their wives.

Another member of the Catholic Women’s Organization in Awka Diocese, Mrs Philomena Okoli disclosed that the organization has series of empowerment programmes that will make women and youths become self reliant.

According to her the group is open for women who have attained the age of forty and above, both married and single.

She said that the organization will visit Schools, prisons and hospitals to give them sense of belonging during this year’s Mothers Sunday.

The Organizer of the Catholic Women’s Organization in Awka Deanery One, comprising Parishes in Awka, Okpuno, Ezinator and Isiagu communities, Lady Ngozi Meg-Okoye who said that there is joy in serving the Lord called on Mothers to avoid acts capable of debasing Motherhood.
