Eight petitions have been received by the Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Awka on the just concluded Senatorial elections.
According to the Secretary of the Tribunal, Barrister Falilat Orire, nine petitions were received in respect of the House of Representatives election while twenty five petitions were received from
the House of Assembly elections.
She said the Tribunal is presently awaiting replies from respondents after which the hearing on the petitions will commence.
The Secretary’s office was a beehive of activities on yesterday afternoon in spite of having worked Saturday and Sunday.
