The State House of Assembly has passed à bill to establish the Anambra State House of Assembly Service Commission.
The bill which was sponsored by Barrister Chugboo Enwezor and twenty six others was passed during yesterdays plenary.
The Commission according to the Bill shall comprise à Chairman and four other members with at least one member drawn from each of the three senatorial zones in the state.
Speaking on the merits of the bill, the Chairman House Committee on Services, Chief Boniface Okonkwo whose committee scrutinized the bill emphasized that the bill when accented to by Governor Willie Obiano will enable the House to discharge its duties creditably without any
form of interference.
Chief Okonkwo commended members of the House, particularly members of the committee, Staff of the House and House of Assembly Correspondents for the roles they played to make the bill à reality.
On his part, the member representing Onitsha North One Constituency, Barrister Chugboo Enwezor expressed Joy that the sixth Assembly has set precedence by passing a bill that will strengthen the legislature in Anambra state.
Speaker of the House, Mrs Rita Maduagwu noted that the sixth Assembly has repositioned the State House of Assembly by passing à people oriented bill, noting that passing a bill that will improve the performance of the House is no mean feat.
