Theater for Development has been described as one of the veritable instruments for dissemination and propagation of government development programmes, policies and activities especially the burning issues of community development and social integration.
The State Director, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Barrister Charles Nwoji was speaking in his office in Awka, Anambra State, while playing host to the general Manager of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigerian, FRCN, Purity FM, Mgbakwu, Comrade Uchenna Chukwuedo and his management team who paid him a courtesy visit.
He recommended the community Theater for Development for all concerned Media Houses and other stakeholders in information management for mobilization and sensitization of Nigerian masses to embrace government policies.
The NOA Director, who maintained that the Media could through the community Theater for Development achieve the building of harmony and unity in the country, if adequately harnessed, noted that Purity FM, has offered the Agency very satisfactory amount of cooperation in doing its jobs in the state.
He noted that the (FRCN) and NOA come from the same background and recommended resources exchange by the sister Agencies as they have the needed potential to make positive change in the society .
Barrister Nwoji, who said that the success of an organization was to some extent determined by the resources available to it, opined that government agencies at all levels should be duly funded to make the desired impact in the society.
Earlier in a remark, the General Manager, Purity FM Mgbakwu , Comrade Chukwedo, said that the the visit was aimed at familiarization with the leadership of NOA in the state as NOA has remained a principal actor in information business in the country over the years.
Comrade Chukwedo , who said that the major responsibility of the Radio Nigeria in the state is all about information dissemination, like every other Radio House in the state, maintained that the issue of information and communication management , needs team work to thrive.
Also speaking, the Deputy Director Programmes NOA, Sir Joseph Uchendu, advised the sister Agency under the federal Minister of Information to uphold the unity that binds them together as they work towards entrenching a formidable change in Anambra state and Nigerian in general.
