Over twenty newly-promoted police officers from the Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Police Force have been  decorated with insignias of their  new ranks by the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, Mr. Mustapha Dandaura at the Force Command, Awka.

Among the newly-promoted police officers were seven Chief Superintendents of Police, CSPs, who were promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioners of Police, ACPs, Deputy Superintendents of Police, DSPs, promoted to the rank of Superintendents of Police, SPs while Assistant Superintendents of Police, ASP, where elevated to the rank of Deputy Superintendents of Police, DSPs. 

Also decorated were Police Inspectors who got new insignias of Assistant Superintendents of Police, ASPs. 

The decoration is a follow-up to the recent approval for promotion of officers of the force, by the Police Service Commission.

In a brief remark during the decoration ceremony, the Commissioner of police Mr. Dandaura reminded the beneficiaries that their new ranks meant bigger responsibilities on their shoulders, and challenged them to make positive choices and strides in line with professional policing. 

Mr. Dandaura also noted that the promotion was a demonstration of the commitment  of the present administration of the force to motivate its officers and men, and give them a solid platform for effective performance. 

Mr. Ahmodu Garba, who is among those promoted from the rank of CSP to ACP, thanked the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu, and the Police Service Commission for availing the officers and men of the Force the  privilege of merit, saying that their new ranks will motivate them to work harder.
