State Security Agencies have been mandated to impound and confiscate any motorcycle found in Awka and Onitsha metropolis.
In a release signed by the Commissioner for Transport, Honourable Uchenna Okafor said the state government observed with dismay that some individuals are violating the ban on the use of motorcycles in Awka and Onitsha metropolis.
It reminded the general public that the ban on the use of motorcycles in Awka and Onitsha metropolis is still in force.
The statement also advised the general public especially motorists to make use of the numerous motor parks and markets in Anambra state and avoid any form of loading and offloading on the streets, stressing that street trading including loading and offloading on the streets of Anambra state are highly prohibited.
It announced that the State Decongestion Task Force has been mandated to enforce strict compliance with the above order aimed at ensuring free flow of vehicular traffic in Anambra state, as well as reduce loses from road crashes.
