A new Commander and Director, Women Ministry, has been installed by the Salvation Army,Anambra West Division.
The Installation ceremony held at Salvation Army Housing Estate Fegge, took place during the Pastoral visit of the Chief Secretary of the Church. Colonel Isaac Danso and Secretary Women’s Ministry, Nigeria. Colonel. Eva Danso.
The event was as double barrel celebration for Anambra West Division of the Corps, comprising of Onitsha, Nnewi and Igbo-ukwu, as they appeared on their full regali, looking naval officers surrounded by their members, friends and well wishes including a Pentecostal Bishop Right Reverend Sylvester Iheanacho.
In a homily during the service marking the installation, the Chief Secretary Col Isaac Danso ,urged Christians to acknowledge the supremacy of Jesus, as the light of d world, noting that the existence of God, has brought total reformation of man.
He said Christ was made manifest through Virgin Mary and has proclaimed good news, liberating the poor, the oppressed and had restored man’s hope for salvation.
The Chief Scribe, noted that total response to light will encourage faithfulness among Christians.
In an address, the Chairman of the Divisional Finance Board, Barrister C.A.C Uzoegwu extolled the virtues of the Chief Secretary, appreciating his efforts towards advancing the course and growth of evangelism in the Division.
Earlier in their separate responses after the installation, the newly enthroned Divisional Commander Major John Okpalaihedi and Director Major Veronica Okpalaihedi expressed gratitude to God and the church for finding them worthy to serve in such capacity, promising more exploits in the lord’s vineyard.
He said their elevation will elevate the church to greater heights, describing it as home coming.
Speaking on the significance of the event, the Territorial Envoy for Salvation Army Nigeria, Dr. Levi Muonanu, observed that the installation will help to foster evangelism, and increase the social corporate work of the church.
The event featured taking of oath of allegiance by the new Commander Major John and Veronica, decoration of the Chief Secretary Colonel Isaac Danso and Secretary Women’s Ministry Nigeria, Eva Danso as well as the inauguration of property committee,special rendition by the choir added colour to the event.
