Governor Willie Obiano has commended Ogidi Community for their recent culture of celebrating the aged in the Community.

The Governor attended the maiden edition of Ito Aro Festival of Ogidi at the Community’s Town Hall premises.

According to the Governor, celebrating the aged should be a norm in Igbo Community as people who do so are known to have long life.

He commended the Tradional Ruler Igwe Alexander Onyido and the Community members, asking them to support him to drive development in their Community.

He prayed that the gesture instituted by the Traditional Ruler of Ogidi will usher in seasons of long life and prosperity in the Community.

Cultural performances featured at the ceremony while Special recognition was given to two oldest members of Ogidi Community.

Government House Correspondent reports that cutting of cake, among other things featured at the ceremony.
