Anambra State government ABS TV will commence twenty four hour broadcast on the terrestrial channel shortly, preparatory to launching on the DSTV platform
Governor Willie Obiano gave the assurance during a parley with select ABS Staff and members of the Governor’s Press Corps.
The parley took place at the Governor’s residence in Aguleri, Anambra East Council Area.
The Governor who said that he is impressed with the current output of ABS, noted that he has put things in motion to ensure that ABS is accommodated on DSTV.
With a sense of pride, Governor Obiano further noted that he watches ABS Programmes appreciated the staff for the hardwork and efforts, especially the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ABS, Chief Uche Nworah, whom he assured will receive a State Government commendation certificate.
Going down memory lane, the Governor stressed that State government has invested so much to give the station its present digital status, away from what was obtainable in 2014 when he assumed office.
While quoting some areas of improvement, he revealed that after implementation of the new minimum wage which he said will add over two billion naira to his wage bill, he will do more interventions for ABS and its staff, urging them to continue as he is solidly behind the station.
For his part, a member of the Board of Directors of ABS who is also the traditional Ruler of Nteje, Igwe Roland Odegbo thanked the Governor for the commendation, asking the ABS staff to work harder.
Also present at the parley were Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Mr C-Don Adinuba, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr James Eze, members of ABS management, among others.
