The Acting Statistician-General of the state, Mr Paul Obiekezie has commended the National President of National Statistician Association of Nigeria, Professor Onyeagu for conducting a credible election into the state chapter of the Association.
He made the commendation in an interview with newsmen, shortly after the election of new executives of the Anambra State Bureau of Statistics in Awka.
He extolled the Government for supporting the association through conference and workshop, aimed at imparting more knowledge and best analytical skills for statistical operations on state’s statistical officers.
He urged the newly elected executives to complement government’s efforts through sustainable quality service delivery.
The newly elected state Chairman of the Association, Mr Emmanuel Okeke, thanked the members for the confidence reposed in him through nomination and election.
He enjoined the executive members to work in synergy with him to actualize the vision and mission of the Association.
He pledged to achieve more feats with his team in order to move the association to greater heights.
The Head Planning, Research and Statistics Department in the Ministry of Trade and Commerce, Mrs Nkiru Mercy Nweze described the election as transparent, free and fair.
