Governor Willie Obiano will receive an excellence award for good governance from the Igbo community in Canberra-Australia on May 8 this year.

The Governor will receive the award during the annual cultural day and Iri-ji festival of the association in appreciation for his people oriented programmes and policies which has improved the living standards of the people.

According to a letter jointly signed by the President Igbo Community in Canberra, Mr Odira Ogbaji and Secretary-General Mr Isaiah Okorie, the inaugural good governance award to Governor Obiano, was in view of his selfless good governance in Anambra State, as well as how his administration has taken the State to enviable heights, resulting to a resounding victory in the November 2017 gubernatorial election which earned him another term of four years.

The Igbo socio-cultural organization based in Canberra Australia, re-assured Governor Obiano and other sons and daughters of Igbo extraction doing very well in their various fields of endeavour of
their total support.

They expressed appreciation to Governor Obiano for appointing one of their members Dr Christian Madubuko as Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, Market and Wealth Creation, calling on other Governors in Nigeria to emulate Governor Obiano in developing their various States.
