Two Healthcare Centres have been inaugurated at Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area.
While inaugurating the centres, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Joe Akabuike applauded, the Member representing Ekwusigo Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Mr Onyebuchi Offor for funding the renovation of the referral Healthcare Centre in Oraifite.
He also commended Umuezeopu Community for their communal effort inerecting new structure for healthcare needs of their people.
The Commissioner urged other well-meaning people of the state to replicate the good job done by Oraifite Community for the health benefit of the less privileged among them.
Dr Akabuike enjoined the community to participate in the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme, pleading with the rich among them to help to register the less privileged, for the new healthcare centres to be fully functional.
He reassured them of government support in equipping, recruiting of medical personnel as well as provision of other basic amenities for the facilities to function effectively.
The Lawmaker , Mr Offor, noted that the renovation of the facility was a call to service.
The Secretary, Umuezeopu Progressive Union, Mr Chibuike Amobi, appealed to the state government to run the centres in such a way that they would attract the attention of the Federal Government.
Head, Department of Health, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Dr Ngozi Okeke expressed joy at the completion of the renovation work at the centres and thanked all that contributed toward their completion.
She appealed to the state government to build staff quarters for nurses to enable them to attend to patients’ needs at any time.
